autojump software package provides shell extension to jump to frequently used directories, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install autojump
autojump is installed in your system.
Make ensure the autojump package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep autojump *
You will get with autojump package name, version, architecture and description in a table
